“Let the word go forth from this time and place...that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans...” -JFK
“Our job’s easier because somebody already got us through that first mile. Somebody already got us over that bridge. When it feels the road is too hard, when the torch we’ve been passed feels too heavy, we will remember these early travelers, and draw strength from their example...We honor those who walked so we could run. We must run so our children soar. And we will not grow weary.” - B. Obama 50th anniversary speech of the Selma to Montgomery marches.

“Mia Adkins attended the Marion City Hall meeting in order to speak on behalf of students in support of a sustainable recycling program. Mayor Fogelman offered a number of ideas for moving forward. We are so grateful for Mia and all of our student leaders who see a need and rise to the challenge. Our community has a promising future because it is in the hands of such passionate children.”
