Patriot baseball and softball teams will both swing into state tournament action this week with first-round games set for Thursday.
The boys will square off against Jacksonville in Jonesboro, while the girls will play Sylvan Hills in Mountain Home. Both games will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Both teams head into the playoffs as 2-seeds, coming off strong seasons. The baseball team finished 23-7 and in second place in the 5A East Conference. The softball team finished 21-9, also claiming second place in the conference.
With wins Thursday, both squads would be set to play again at 3 p.m. Friday. The boys would play the winner of Van Buren and Hamilton, while the girls would face the winner of Greenwood and Lake Hamilton.
